Centric Pipe is Hiring an Industrial Maintenance Manager Near Bossier City, LA

Responsibilities and Competencies(The list / description below is not intended to be exhaustive)

Accountable for: Accountable for the mechanical maintenance programs and preventative program, etc. of the company’s operations. Responsible for related operations, compliance, and control.

Accountabilities and relevant controlled documentation pertained to this work stations have been defined according with the Training Matrix.

Tooling Operations and Management

1. Maintenance & Repair:

· Plans, schedules, and assigns workers in mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic (electrical if assigned and only if qualified) maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.

· Assists workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.

· Directs workers engaged in dismantling, assembling, and installing industrial machinery.

· Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders for workers, and assign duties.

2. Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Systems Improvement:

· Establishes PM’s that increase efficiency of equipment.

· Recommends, and has significant latitude to implement, measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.

· Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.

· Project Management: Undertake initiatives by identifying a need and potential return on investment. Undertake projects at the discretion of management.

i. Report progress to management so that management is regularly informed and is able to advise.

ii. Track and/or record key knowledge learned which may add value to the project or future projects.

iii. Request or directly acquire the resources needed to support projects’ progress towards outcomes and milestones.

iv. Results: Bring projects to fruition.

3. Administration:

· Assists with tracking expenses to a budget and works to forecast.

· Requisitions and monitors supply of spare parts.

· Interprets company policies to workers and enforces company policies and safety regulations.

· Establishes and adjusts work schedules to accommodate production schedules and achieve maintenance requirements.

· Confers with other supervisors and management to coordinate activities of individual departments.

· Performs all other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.

4. Productivity Management: Achieve Maintenance as scheduled.

5. Leadership: Supervise, lead, and manage any qualified maintenance employees needed to support operations. Comply with human resources and personnel-related procedures. Verify staff competence and personnel training need for improving job performance.

· Delegate and designate authority to qualified persons to act on your behalf and in the best interest of the company.

· Terminations & Coaching: Follow HR guidelines to terminate or coach / discipline employees when appropriate. Act in the best interest of the company by seeking counsel when making determinations of a less obvious nature. Thoroughly document all incidents and details.

· Development: Train and guide subordinate talent so to prepare for their growth and extension of contributions.

· Directly supervise employees in maintenance department as assigned. Plan work schedules, assign tasks, appraise performance, reward and discipline employees, authorize paid time off, address complaints and issues, interview and hire.

6. Safety: Remain, at all times, conscious of safety and adhere to the protocols and safety policies and best practices.

· Ensure all equipment, including guards and PPE and first aid, are available, adequate, in repair, and used.

· Use of PPE: PPE includes regularly using Safety Glasses, Hard Hat, Gloves, Ear Plugs, Face Shield if grinding, Kevlar Arm Guards, LOTO Lock and Steel-toed Boots. Additional PPE such as fall protection, respirators, safety belts, welding gloves and welding helmet, etc. as required.

· Response: Ensure all accidents are addressed immediately, and then reported according to protocol. Ensure all follow-up to accidents is completed and documented. Ensure that collaboration between management and safety representatives occurs in a timely manner.

Qualifications and Essential Functions

Education/Certification: Two-year (Associate’s / A.A.) Degree or Certification from a technical school and/or 4 years of related experience and training specific industry or related industry.

Experience Required: 4 years of experience in a pipe mill or comparable industrial role. A plus to have comprehension of API product requirements. A PLUS to have worked in ERW OCTG production environment.

i. Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems and properties, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, and Blueprint reading. Electrical responsibilities may be assigned if additional qualifications are met.

Skills/Abilities: Strong professional, interpersonal, and organizational management skills.

Self-managing, well-organized and structured work style.

Ability to operate relevant MS Office computer applications.

A “problem-solving personality”.

Pluses: Six sigma, lean manufacturing, metallurgy, rolling mill, engineering

Physical: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand for a long period of time; bend, stoop, climb steps or stairs, and move around work area. Must have the ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel, and reach with arms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

COMMUNICATION: Ability to effectively and efficiently communicate with employees via conversation, email,

and presentations. Ability to read and interpret common scientific and technical journals,

and other instructional documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or

complaints. Ability to effectively present information to management, or customer if requested by management.

TRAVEL: Ability to travel, by any methods as directed by the Company, for purpose of face to face interaction with internal and external customers. Driver’s license required.

MATHEMATICAL: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and mass; and interpret bar graphs.

Aptitude to calculate and use the following instruments – scale in 1/8”, 1/16”, 1/32” and 1/64” increments – 12” to 72” long; protractor head, diameter tape – 100’s increments, micrometers, diameter tape – 1/64” increments, 6” Vernier caliper, 50’ tapes, ring gauges, squares, levels, line levels, various tape measures, conversion charts (decimal to fraction, fraction to decimal), tri-square, string line, feeler gauges, overhead scale, dial indicators, calipers.

ENVIRONMENTAL: Ability to work most effectively in an industrial workshop field setting, while capable of managing tools, inventory, and equipment as part of the daily work activities and management. Wet and humid conditions / subject to outdoor weather conditions such as heat. Moderate to high noise.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
